Basic Long-Sleeve Tunic Tee

This is my kinda style.....i found these t-shirts on an eBay store from 1 vendor. They are new with tags (some without but never worn). I think they are so cute. You can dress these up with skinny jeans, over due it with earrings because they are simple or wear them with sweats. These shirts are very versatile and I want them in every color. Lol. These are adorable paired with solid or print pashminas or oversize scarves.

I HAVE A NEW CAMERA

HELLO.....so I have an update. I just received my new camera in the mail. My new FujiFilm. I will be taking tons of photos and posting new videos on YouTube. I'm so excited because I'm moving forward with my promise to complete this blog, upload more videos, etc and just enjoy a hobby (my hair) that I love to do. Stay tuned everyone.

APL for June 2012

Arm-Pit Length Hair by June 2012

My goal is to be full arm-pit length hair by June of 2012.  I don't necessarily hide my hair but tucking my ends away (in a high bun) is something that I often do.

My weekly regimen: Shampoo 1x a week using Shea Moisture Shampoo. Deep condition 1x a week alternating between a protein and moisture balance. Once my hair is washed I will braid or twist my hair using satin-strips. Using the satin strips for the first time (in a braid-out) kept my ends from getting crunchy. My hair was very defined, shiny, and less tension seemed to be placed on my hair. Below is Nina who demonstrates and show results of the satin braid out.

Once my hair is taken down, I'll pull it up into a high bun using a banana clip and headbands. I want to reframe from using scunci's unless I'm washing my hair in pigtails.

Positive Thinking Time - Vision Board

I will update as I go along

Positive Thinking Time - Happy New Year

The power of positive thinking goes a long way and that alone is an understatement.

I have lost friends, relationships, etc in 2011 and I use to say that 2011 was the worst year ever. But now I look back and see that 2011 was the best year EVER because I have learned so many lessons in this one year alone compared to any other year. Rather it be tragic news or celebrating my birthday, the good and bad goes hand in hand. I choose to accept 2011 as being a great year and starting 2012 as if I graduated having learned the lessons I did.

I plan on starting my new vision board as soon as I run to target today or tomorrow. I made a vision board some time in March but I got distracted, so wrap in a my ex, that I lost my goals and my visions. My new years resolution is to focus, spoil, attention hog ME. I spent 60% of my birth day helping my friend and her family move into their new apartment and I wouldn't change a thing. I am going to better me for 2012. There might be a gym membership for me in the future. Procrastination may it RIP.

Oil Rinses / Co-Washes

Oil Rinses / Co-Wash
  • I always co-wash using some type of oil. Rather I'm leaving the oil in my hair over night or applying oil to my wet hair and rinsing it out with a conditioner. I do not have a set oil rinse/co wash regimen but in a general sense - co washing with a oil is a must for me.
Dabur Vatika Coconut Hair Oil - $3 (Ayurvedic Oil)
Organic/Pure Wheat Germ Oil  - $11 (Ceramide Oil)
Organic/Pure Hemp Seed Oil - $7 (Ceramide Oil)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Grocery Store
Tropic Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil - $10

(Most of these oils I purchase from eBay or the Vitamin Shoppe. My skin and hair loves
coconut oil the best. The vatika coconut oil penetrates my hair as a deep conditioner would.)

  • Applying a conditioner that provides the best slip to my hair helps with my moisture, detangling, etc. Once I let the oil sit on my hair for about 2-3 minutes (under a shower cap), I follow up using.....
    • Suave Humectant Moisture Conditioner (DOES NOT contain any sulfates, parabens, mineral oil, and not tested on animals). Does contain dipropylene glycol *May try Suave Aloe & Ginseng Conditioner (contains organic ingredients)
    •  TRESemme Naturals - Nourishing Conditioner (CONTAINS Organic Aloe Vera & Organic Avocado Oil. NO SULFATES, non tested on animals, hypoallergenic, dye-free. Vibrantly smooth conditioner contains Organic Coconut Oil =D)
    • One N' Only Argon Moisture Repair Conditioner (FREE of sulfates, phosphates, and parabens). Does contain propylene glycol
It seems as though the TRESemme is my safest product wise to stick with when it comes to safe ingredients. They have 3 different type of conditioners that all contain certified organic ingredients. I will add ingredients such as aloe vera gel, glycerin, to see if there is a notable difference. This will be updated when I find a staple co-washing conditioner.
